News and Ticker

News posts new Monero Love articles to the channel. Ticker posts XMR/USD alerts for moves of 5% or more over about one hour, with green for rises and red for falls.

For an on-demand quote, open a direct chat with Ticker and send !price or /price. Quotes use the latest Kraken XMR/USD trade and include its UTC timestamp.

Direct chats are end-to-end encrypted. Ticker processes the commands you send to it.

Public servers

Open to everyone, with no server password. Both services are hosted in Roubaix, France, on OVH infrastructure. Each address below includes a clearnet hostname and its Tor onion alternative.

Messaging

The SMP server relays encrypted messages between SimpleX clients.

Undelivered messages expire after 21 days. These are server storage limits, not deletion of messages or files already saved on a device.

Files

The XFTP server temporarily stores encrypted file chunks for transfer.

File chunks expire after 48 hours. These are server storage limits, not deletion of messages or files already saved on a device.

Add the servers to SimpleX

Open Settings → Network & servers in SimpleX Chat.
Open your server settings and add the messaging address as an SMP server and the file address as an XFTP server.
Run the app server tests and save the configuration.

For the onion addresses, configure SimpleX to use a working Tor SOCKS proxy. Including an onion hostname in the address does not enable Tor by itself. See the official network settings guide.

Adding these servers and joining the channel are separate steps. The invitation above opens the existing Monero Love channel. Server addresses belong in the app settings, not in a web browser.
